The Main Building

The Main Building at SOLO was begun in 1977…someday we will get it finished. Designed by SOLO founder Frank Hubbell and his brother, then Dean of the school of Architecture at the University of Michigan, Kent Hubbell, the idea was to build a flexible teaching space, “a barn for people”.  It worked.

The Main Building provides classroom and demonstration space on two floors with study spaces and a library on the third floor. Both the Main Building and the Octagon are WiFi  zones.
